Advantages of Light Emitting Sensors (LES)

CredenceTAB™ features an Integrated Biometrics Columbo fingerprint sensor, consisting of a patented electroluminescent polymer LES film. When a finger is placed on the LES film, the fingerprint ridges complete a low-level electric circuit. This causes the luminescent particles in the film to emit light and capture high-resolution fingerprint images.

Following are some of the advantages offered by LES sensors integrated into CredenceTAB™:

  • Light-emitting sensors require far less power than prism-based biometric fingerprint systems.

  • They deliver live fingerprint scans rapidly with built-in testing to eliminate spoofing.

  • They remain unaffected by oils, dirt, heat, or cold from previous fingerprints.

  • Credence ID’s fully featured C-SDK analyzes the quality of captured fingerprints to improve the fingerprint matching algorithm’s performance.

Smartcard and ePassport reading combined!

CredenceTAB™ integrates a dedicated ePassport reader and a high-speed dual-interface smartcard reader enabling secure readouts for user identification and authentication. With our comprehensive, Android-based C-SDK, you can send and receive RAW APDU or read ICAO documents directly. The firmware for these readers can be field-upgraded through over-the-air software updates.

  • CredenceTAB™ is capable of reading virtually any ePassport in the world. The ePassport reader can read the following types of documents with MRZ:

    • 1 line: IDL, CAN
    • 2 lines: ID2 cards, ePP
    • 3 lines: eID
    • Font Type OCR B
  • CredenceTAB™ accepts contact and 13.56MHz contactless smartcards through an integrated interface wherein the reader recognizes the type of smartcard to activate the corresponding channel.

  • The contactless interface supports fast contactless transmissions up to 848 Kbps in ISO 14443 A/B mode. It meets the ISO standards listed below:
