The second release Trident features a new core chipset with the FreeScale iMX6 Quad Core processor and Android 6.0 Operating System that brings new levels of performance to the platform. The Trident-2 will also be enabled with Over-The-Air software update functionality that allows you to send software updates wirelessly and keep your devices current over a standard Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
Trident confirms its market leading position as a fully integrated tri-modal biometrics mobile device that employs a dual finger enrollment-capable FAP 45 fingerprint scanner, the first binocular-type iris capture on a mobile unit, and a stunning 5 MP auto-focus camera with flash that features barcode scanning capability.
Enabling Nigeria Student ID Verification
The West African Examinations Council is West Africa’s foremost examining board established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.
Every year WAEC oversees the examinations of millions of students. In the process, it is critical to make sure that the identity of every student taking the examination is verified against the identity that was registered. The solution is to provide mobile biometric identity verification at the point of entry of the examination venue. By deploying the CredenceONE, a compact, mobile and versatile device on which all students’ information is stored electronically, the identity of exam takers can be established at the point of entry of the examination venue.
WAEC requested our local partner Vatebra to take the lead in this project and develop an easy-to-use software application that required minimum training for the examination officers. “Credence ID devices are perfectly suited for this type of project. They are highly mobile and provide very long battery life which is important in these often remote and challenging environments. Their platform and included SDK are critical for the rapid application development necessary for this type of project”, said Kunle Akinniran, Managing Director of Vatebra.
With the mobile identity verification solution in place, WAEC has been able to reduce examination fraud in the examination process while at the same time simplifying the administration aspects by replacing a cumbersome paper trail with a fully electronic information management system. Gitex 2016 in review
The Gitex show in Dubai saw several Credence ID partners exhibiting and demonstrating Credence ID products integrated and driving their solutions for KYC, e-Registration, Document Verification and Border Control.
Of particular interest was the solution for mobile e-ID card issuance, developed by Gemalto Middle East, and presented by the Civil Registry department of the Saudi Ministry of Interior. At Gitex, every year Ministries from the GCC countries illustrate their vision on how to effectively innovate to further streamline citizen access to (e) Government services. The Saudi Civil Registry showcased a new issuance method for e-ID cards to citizens where the CredenceONE enables delivery at home by taking a fingerprint that is compared to the stored fingerprint on the National ID card – captured during registration – to ensure that the ID document is issued to the authorized holder. This process offers unparalleled levels of flexibility to Saudi residents being served at the convenience at their residential address.
The Saudi ID card contains the holder’s digital information such as demographics, facial image and fingerprints and can also be used as a travel document that facilitates legitimate travel within all GCC countries. Enabling this solution for mobile e-ID card issuance the Credence platform addresses the gaining popularity globally of electronic IDs, including mobile IDs and biometric IDs. The number of national e-IDs in circulation is expected to reach 3.5 billion citizens by 2018, by which time, the number of countries issuing e-ID will supersede those issuing traditional national IDs by a ratio of 5 to 1.
